Hi, I'm Marlies, founder of Studio Blokland, concept designer, illustrator and packaging designer based in the Netherlands.
After several years focusing on pattern design and children's illustration, I founded Studio Blokland to bring my biggest passion to life: developing original concepts where storytelling, illustration and play come together. From children's toys and products to packaging and concept development, I love developing ideas that grow into whole worlds, with strong characters that can stretch across a whole product range.
I just love wooden toys, vintage illustrations and the kind of packaging that makes you want to pick something up before you even know what's inside. That passion drives everything I make.
